Condo Vacations

Condo Vacations: Where do you spend your vacations? By that I mean where do you stay? For a long while we just settled for a comfortable hotel. Then one time flying back to Hawaii from Hong Kong we had planned a stop in Honolulu, but had not made any reservations. We travel dangerous sometimes :-). When we got to the auto rental agency we asked the lady if she could recommend a good place to stay that was reasonable? She knew of a couple and directed us to them. As it turned out they were not hotels at all but beautiful high rise condos. We had all of the comforts of home with maid service and a great view of the city to boot.

Fast-forward in time and it came time for a Florida vacation and we immediately thought of our good experience in Honolulu, so we started looking for a condo to stay in rather than a hotel. Since we were planning on staying on the North coast of Florida we considered several places but settled on Panama City Beach. At the time condos were very reasonable to rent and to buy.
It turns out we just bought one in Horizon South. This was an older campus with several stages of construction over several years so the properties varied some. The closer we got to the beach the newer the condos were. We ended up settling for one about in the middle of campus. When I say campus that is what it is, with a lot of open space and the highest building was only 4 stories.
We have since sold our condo to new owners that have use of the condo for more months out of the year and we just rent it for the winter months plus a couple weeks in the summer. So if you have not considered a condo vacation then maybe you should. I recommend you visit Horizon South and see if you agree. The condo vacations are definitely the way to go. For us, condo vacations are the best. The author lives in Panama City Beach a few months each year and is semi-retired in that he likes to build simple web-sites in his spare time.
